We had been hiking along the switchbacking trail on Mount Graham of southeastern Arizona for hours. With every apparent peak, our professor, Dr. Norris, would enthusiastically yell, "We're almost at the summit! Just one more of peak!" before he sprang uphill. I'm sure all of us 20-to-30-somethings were thinking, how does he have more endurance than we do? And then, we did it. We climbed over a rocky outcropping and the fatigue melted away when we got our reward. What could be better than a breathtaking dessert landscape from 10,000 ft high?
